The show must go on . . .
In March 2020, Santa Monica High School’s nationally-renowned orchestra was scheduled to perform at the top concert halls of Europe, including in Berlin and Amsterdam. When Covid swept across Europe two weeks before departure, the tour was cancelled.
Visitors with Violins, a 501c(3) nonprofit, is how we carried on. By performing live, online music performances for seniors isolated by Covid, we found a new place to direct our energy.
And as musicians, we have felt the power of music to connect deeply to other human beings, likely far more viscerally than we would have performing in European concert halls.
Who we are
While originally formed by members of Samohi's Symphony orchestra, we now take volunteers from all over. If you share our passion for music and want to connect with people who could use a visit, join us.
